Makeup & Skincare Favorites

Makeup has always been sort of a passion for me, so to speak. I absolutely love “getting ready” for the simple fact that it delights me to another level to¬†try out new looks with all my makeup. I am like a kid in the candy store at Ulta, just a friendly fyi. I find such instant gratification in trying out new brands, which usually ends in me choosing products based on their packaging, because attention to detail is everything, right?! What can I say? I get it from my mama ūüėČ

First things first, skincare. To remove all makeup, I simply use a drop or two of jojoba oil. That’s it! I know, I was so shocked too!!! ūüėȬ†I previously used Neutrogena Makeup Remover Facial Wipes¬†in Lavender and after reading all the outrageously harsh chemicals inside each wipe,¬†I kicked those bad boys¬†to the curb! Yikes!¬†I have also recently reduced the rest of my skincare regimen down to the bare minimum, as well.¬†I started¬†using this Cocovit Mini Facial Mist¬†&¬†Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum¬†and I am digging it. Paired together, they¬†keep my skin from breaking out and looking so refreshed and youthful! After washing my face, I use Copaiba on any blemishes, use a few more drops of jojoba oil paired with a drop or two of¬†Frankincense¬†oil¬†on¬†my entire face and neck as a moisturizer, Lavender under my eyes and¬†Geranium + coconut oil ¬†on the rest of my body to promote smooth, healthy skin. I have completely replaced all my previous brands and products which makes my regimen the easiest and keeps my skin looking its healthiest!

To start, I prime my face with¬†L’Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer,¬†which magically blurs out pores without clogging them, and then pair¬†with¬†L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation¬†in #103 Natural Buff¬†(tip: I tend to go a shade darker in the summer months) as my base. I tend to have very oily skin, so no matter what foundation or powder I use, it must be matte. I love L’Oreal’s Pro-Matte foundation because it is very lightweight and lasts all day, which leaves my skin looking smooth and flawless! It covers extremely¬†well without looking like you have a pound of foundation on your face. Less is more!¬†I occasionally use CoverGirl Ready, Set Gorgeous Concealer¬†if I have blemishes that won’t go away, which I absolutely love, and it works its magic by¬†hiding all the dark circles under my eyes from my lack of sleep. Sometimes, I even use L’Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Lumi Highlighter¬†for a little extra shimmer, here and there. Nars Blush in Amour has been my go-to blush for years, it is the perfect shade of dusty rose without being too overpowering or bright. Recently, I tried Milani¬†Rose Blush¬†in Coral Cove and Gerard Cosmetics¬†Star Powders¬†in Grace as a highlighter/blush combo and I am in love, there are a few different shades offered in both brands and I love how well they¬†accentuate my cheekbones! I almost always use one of the following palettes:¬†Makeup Revolution Fortune Favors the Brave Palette,¬†Lorac ‘Pro’ Matte Eyeshadow Palette,¬†Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette,¬†Urban Decay ‘Naked Basics’ Palette¬†because they honestly have the best nudes/sheers, which really cater to my sense of style! ūüėČ

I tend use the Makeup Revolution palette more than any other palette because there are so many gorgeous, matte and shimmery shadows. Pictures do not do this palette justice, you really need to see this palette in person to appreciate all its beauty! Glimmer, Buffer and Latte are usually my go-to colors, although, sometimes I do like to switch it up a bit and use Cashmere, Favour and Pink Diamond.

If you haven’t gotten the memo yet, nude with a pop of sweet pink is sort my jam¬†ūüėȬ†Carrying on….

To achieve my cat eye look, I use L’Oreal¬†Infallible Liquid Eyeliner¬†in black. It tends to be very easy to use in precisely lining¬†your eyes¬†without the horrid mess that most liquid eyeliner can make. Sometimes I will mix it up a bit and use various color of just regular eyeliner pencils, never really sticking to any certain brand. It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara¬†has been the only mascara I have used for years, because it really lengthens and makes your lashes appear to be really full! Which for me, I have¬†very long lashes, but they are blonde in color, so this mascara takes my lashes to a whole new level of crazy intense in volume! Although, if I for some reason run out or fail to reorder through Prime, I will resort to my favorite drug-store brand L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara¬†in Carbon Black. After checking out¬†some reviews,¬†I tried¬†Lash Primer¬†and I love it! As for my brows, I use Anastasia Beverly Hills¬†‘Brow Wiz’ Mechanical Brow Pencil¬†in Ebony to¬†outline my brows and then go back and fill them in completely with the Duo Brow Powder¬†in Granite. I, then, apply¬†my gloss or lipstick. I have so many favorites and I chose the shade I wear depending on my look or mood.¬†Melted Matte Lipstick¬†in Sell Out is usually my go-to gloss, but I also love Kylie in Exposed, Candy K, and Koko K or Dose of Colors in Truffle or Bare with Me. Then, I seal the deal, with my¬†PhotoFocus Setting Spray¬†to keep my makeup looking super fresh, all day long!

As much as this is, it typically only¬†takes less than 10 minutes for me to get ready, minus drying my hair.¬†I hope you have enjoyed reading about my beauty and skincare routine and hope you will share your makeup secrets and recommendations¬†with me in the comments! XO‚ÄĒ
