The PERFECT regimen for glowy skin can be found within the bottles of essential oils. Give yourself the gift of happy skin! I take great pride in taking care of myself and any way I can continue to keep my skin looking youthful, I am all game. Keeping my routine simply and minimal is always a top priority for me in selecting beauty products. Young Living has definitely become a game changer for me and my routine.

I love kicking every week off with my holy-grail skincare regimen! Starting with exfoliating, I use Copaiba on any blemishes, Frankincense + Jojoba oil on my entire face and neck (for blemishes and all the signs of aging and wrinkles showing up these day), Lavender under my eyes & Geranium + coconut oil  on the rest of my body to promote smooth, healthy skin. Also did you know jojoba oil alone makes an amazing eye makeup remover?!

With that said, I am sharing a few DIY beauty recipes that are sure to have your skin radiating, even through the harsh winter!

Get a smooth, dewy, long-lasting makeup look with this essential oil-infused DIY Makeup Setting Spray. With just three ingredients—all of them naturally derived—it can be made at a fraction of the cost of retail brands. This homemade Makeup Setting Spray can also be easily customized to your skin’s needs: add Frankincense essential oil for normal skin, Geranium essential oil or Tea Tree essential oil for oily skin, and Myrrh essential oil for dry skin.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces water
  • ½ tablespoon vegetable glycerin
  • 6 drops
  • Frankincense essential oil for normal skin
  • Geranium essential oil or Tea Tree essential oil for oily skin
  • Myrrh essential oil for dry skin.

Directions: Add to a small spray bottle and shake well. Hold spray bottle about 12 inches from face and lightly spritz skin 2–3 times. Let dry.Love your fresh-all-day look!

I have really sensitive skin, especially on my hands, since having both of my children. It’s crazy how much your body chemistry can change after childbirth. I am constantly battling my dyshidrotic eczema and with the help of Young Living’s essential oils created a couple hand creams to help combat the problem. 🖐🏻

Whipped Hand Cream

Ingredients1 cup organic fractionated coconut oil

  • 1 cup organic refined Shea butter (do not use lotion)
  • 15 drops of your favorite topical/aromatic essential oil (we love Tea Tree, Cedarwood, Lavender, and Frankincense essential oils)

DirectionsWarm a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, then add coconut oil and Shea butter. Melt until completely liquefied, about 4–5 minutes.

  1. Pour into a glass mixing bowl and place in refrigerator for 30–45 minutes to cool and just set but not harden.
  2. Stir in essential oils.
  3. Using an electric hand mixer, whip until firm peaks form, about 10 minutes.
  4. Gently transfer to a seal-able jar or container. Store at room temperature to avoid melting or solidifying.
  5. Massage into dry skin!

Rose Ointment | I’ve been struggling with dry scaly-skin on my poor face because winter is the worst. Lather on rose ointment. No more scales OR redness literally within minutes.
Essential Beauty Serum | One of Young Living least talked about products that should be THE MOST! It’s awesome in the winter time to keep your skin from being a victim to the dryness from the cold. Bonus it’s less than $30 and contains Myrrh, Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood, and Blue Cypress. Such a great way to get using those more expensive oils on your skin for a fraction of the cost. It is specially formulated for dry, oily, OR acne-prone skin. Getchya some, y’all! Making sugar scrubs at home virtually costs much less than buying those expensive department store exfoliating scrubs that contain unpronounceable and possibly harmful ingredients and synthetic fragrances. And since you only need to exfoliate one a week, it’s easy to whip up a small batch whenever you like! 😉

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Starbucks espresso coffee, fresh grounds
  • 2-3 T. Herbivore coconut oil
  • 12-15 drops Peppermint oil

Directions: Combine sugar, coffee, and (2) tablespoons of coconut oil until well mixed. I like to heat up my coconut oil so that it combines evenly throughout the mixture. Add peppermint to suit your scent strength, add more oil if desired. I tend to like mine a little drier so it is a stronger exfoliant. Transfer mixture to an airtight container like a mason jar, and store in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
